2012年北京时间7月10日下午，参加伦敦奥运会的中国体育代表团在北京正式成立。中国代表团一共621人，其中运动员396人，包括林丹、王皓等29名北京奥运冠军。中国队将参加除足球、手球和马术之外的23个大项，212个小项。396名中国队运动员中，男运动员171人、女运动员225人。在参赛的所有运动员中，有来自蒙、回、藏、维等10个少数名族的运动员25名。
